UOW Scholars Profile

Jason David graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2016 with a BE (Hons II) in Mechatronic Engineering. Throughout two years of his degree Jason worked with a then UOW based company, OCIUS Technology, developing an autonomous sailing vessel. Jason's role within the design team was to assist in the development of both hardware and software systems, focussing on the sailing algorithm and the driving systems used to enable the vessel’s propulsion and control.

In 2016 Jason undertook his final year thesis project, designing and building a Peltier driven calorimeter, he was exposed to the field of power quality and distribution and developed a keen interest in the area. Now working with the Australian Power Quality & Reliability Centre as an Associate Research Fellow, Jason is undertaking projects concentrating on the effects of power quality on consumer devices and the impact of renewable energy sources on the distribution network.
